Quilt Story, 1997, Mixed Fabric with Acrylic, 5'x7'

This piece is symbolic of night time liberation and its struggle. The quilt being a covering that keeps my body comfortable and safe, the bed being a place of where the quilt lays, a bed being a place of rest, dreams and possible sexual encounters, all this became a symbolic cycle of a young woman from birth to sexual maturity.
