La Vendedora de Flores
DESCRIPTION: This painting is based on one of the first drawings I ever did of Niñají, my cartoon character & the heroine of Niñají Comic. Oftentimes in Mexico, you will see Indigenous & Mestiza (mixed heritage) women selling baskets of flowers on their heads. A colibrí (hummingbird) symbolizes good luck. A xoloitzcuintli, a dog kept as a pet by Prehispanic aristrocrats & buried with them at their deaths, was a guide into the after life. Niñají’s xoloitzcuintli, Tibú, is a nahual (shapeshifter) who guides her. Orignal Sold.
The original watercolor painting is sold but prints are AVAILABLE.
