GLYPHTOONS 2000-2006

ARTIST STATEMENT

Glyphtoons are paintings of contemporary mythology composed of female archetypes and symbols that navigate the dual conflicting world of sex positive feminism from the perspective of exotic dancers.  These works were first shown in 2006 at a solo exhibition with Patricia Correa Gallery in Bergamot Station, Santa Monica, California USA. Titania Kumeh wrote an article "The Afterlife of a Comic Stripper" for Chicano Art Magazine Fall 2006, covering the art works in the exhibit.  Click on the magazine to read the entire article.
